Israel plans revenge attack on Iran as West urges restraint

On Sunday night, the Israel Defense Forces said the country’s war cabinet had approved both “offensive and defensive action” despite warnings from Western leaders. Israel called off an immediate retaliation following US intervention, but Tel Aviv later said that it reserved the right to strike Iran at a “manner and time” of its choosing.
