Abkhazia

Moscow will open a naval base in Abkhazia, a breakaway region in Georgia that is home to Russian troops, after the Kremlin was forced to begin moving its Black Sea fleet away from occupied Crimea following a series of devastating Ukrainian missile attacks. Aslan Bzhania, the pro-Moscow head of the breakaway region, said that Russia would establish a base in the territory’s Ochamchira region on the east coast of the Black Sea. The area was previously home to a Soviet naval base. His comments came after he met President Putin for talks in Moscow.

“This is all aimed at increasing the level of defence capability of both Russia and Abkhazia, and this kind of interaction will continue,”

he told Russia’s Izvestiya newspaper, indicating that the proposal to open a naval base had been initiated by Moscow. It is unclear how many Russian warships will be deployed to the base. The Kremlin has not commented.

Back in 2008 Russia invaded Georgia. Georgia (like Ukraine) had once been part of the USSR but became an independent nation in 1991 when the USSR broke up. Very much like Ukraine, Russia backed several regions in Georgia that wanted to ”belong” to Russia. Abkhazia is one of those self-proclaimed republics that Russia recognises as being a separate state. It’s the equivalent of Crimea that also broke away from Ukraine and became part of Russia. The main Russia naval base in Crimea is now under attack from Ukraine forces so Russia has done a deal to open a new naval base in Abkhazia. The Bible says that Russia will invade Israel (and Egypt) in the future and will come with many ships. This new naval base will help them do this when the time comes…

Bible Quote

And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.  (Daniel 11:40)
