Offensive ‘imminent’ | Israel’s defence minister said his forces would take Hamas “out of Gaza and out of the Earth” with an invasion that would “effect permanent change” in the Palestinian territory. Israel gave 1.1 million people 24 hours to leave northern Gaza before it warned it would begin an offensive now said to be “imminent”.
