The Big Question: How to keep your home warm this winter as energy bills soar?

How can you keep your home warm this winter as energy bills soar?

Ofgem has announced its latest review of the energy price cap, with the maximum amount utility providers can charge their standard tariff customers in the UK rising to £3,549 a year from 1 October, an astounding 80 per cent hike.

The situation is only expected to get worse, with analysts from Cornwall Insight already forecasting future increases to £4,200 and £5,300 in subsequent quarters as global gas prices surge, in no small part due to Russia’s war in Ukraine, the consequences of which are feeding into a broader cost of living crisis with inflation at a 40-year high of 10.1 per cent and wages stagnating.

Understandably, millions of people across Britain are already looking at what else they can do to shore up their homes this winter in the interest of staying warm without racking up extortionate bills. Here are a few tips for your consideration.
